This book was ah-may-zing. I absolutely loved it. It was a suspense/thriller about “true” love gone wrong, horribly wrong. This is a two sitting read. I could not put it down and spent yesterday reading virtually the whole book (I was 80 pages deep when I picked it up at 9:30 yesterday morning.)

The character development in this book was just superb. I quickly developed a love/hate relationship with the two main characters, Nick and Amy. Even the supporting characters were very well-developed. They were relatable, and flawed – some quite deeply. I found myself seeing in them people I knew, though (luckily) Flynn’s characters were grossly exaggerated from any of the personalities I know in real life!

The plot was so crazy it was one of those “you can’t make this stuff up” sort of vibes, which I love. There were some pretty serious twists, the first of which I really didn’t see coming – and that’s hard to do these days. You get to a certain point in your life (after enough books and movies) where you just don’t get caught off guard by things like that anymore. I found it to be quite refreshing to actually be surprised by the direction the story went in!

I don’t want to get into any spoilers for anyone that hasn’t read this yet, so I’m going to cut myself short on discussing some of the more finer aspects of the plot, but the ending left me wanting more – which isn’t really a bad thing in this genre. I will certainly be checking out more of Flynn’s work. I heard she just signed another two-book deal! Yay! If you’re looking for a can’t-put-it-down suspenseful and entertaining read, I highly recommend it.

As far as spoiler alerts go – I can’t make any promises regarding what comes out in the comments, so if you don’t want to know – don’t peek!!
